Webmaster (appointed position)

Webmaster - ASMC Washington Chapter maintains a web site at http://www.Washington-ASMC.org
To prevent violations of DoD rules on use of government equipment and time all functions should be completed on other than government equipment.

The site is currently hosted at APlus.net.  Fees are paid annually for hosting service, and Domain name registration.

Funds are budgeted annually for software upgrades.
    Software currently in use:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2003
  • GroupMail Personal Edition by Infacta

The Webmaster is responsible to keep all web pages up to date.  He must rely on Chapter Officers to provide the necessary updates.

includes a list of topics to be included on the web and Competition points awarded for each

200 Competition Points are awarded for each item on a chapter web site.
Website must be current.

  • Link to the National ASMC website
  • Calendar of chapter events
  • List of chapter officers
  • Local Constitution and Bylaws
  • Chapter Newsletter
  • Chapter programs (awards, community service, meetings, etc.)
  • Member News (achievements by chapter members)
  • Defense FM related content

The Webmaster is responsible to publish periodic email Announcements to members that have subscribed to this service.

The GroupMail software is used to maintain the subcriber database and to draft/format the Announcement.  To prevent violations of DoD rules on use of government equipment the Announcement should only be sent to members who have specifically subscribed.
