FUNCTIONS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MILITARY COMPTROLLERS
EXECUTIVE BOARD AND
COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSONA

VICE PRESIDENT (elected for 2 years on even numbered years)

Each Service and Corporate/Retired has a Vice President

  • DoD
  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marine Corps
  • Coast Guard
  • Corporate/Retired

The Vice President of the same Service as the President will serve as President in the President’s absence.

All Vice President’s serve as the focal point for their individual Service.  Some of their duties are as follows:

  1. Attends monthly Executive Board meetings

  2. Coordinate approximately 1-2 Service sponsored luncheons per year (duties may be shared with Service Assistant Secretary)

    1. Secure a luncheon speaker

    2. Arrange for facility and food service working closely with Assistant Secretary

    3. Gather information to be used in the monthly newsletter including reminding the President of the 100-word article required.  The purpose of the ASMC Washington Chapter Newsletter is to be a vehicle of information to members for Chapter activities as well as developments in the field of Comptrollership.  The following items should be included:

      • 100 word President’s message – an editorial type highlighting a significant event such as policy change, budget submission, or milestone.

      • Schedule of activities – a schedule of dates for events pertinent to the Chapter.

      • Summary of Chapter Board meetings – should be a condensed version of Board actions that affect Chapter policy or events.

      • Chapter information – should be a listing or members that have achieved certain goals, transfers, promotions, appointments, retirements, etc.

    4. Conduct the transition meeting with the new Service Vice President
