Our jointly sponsored Golf Tournament this past
Wednesday was a tremendous success to a sell-out crowd of 110+ golfers!
All indications show we will be "in the black" when the dust settles,
and will have raised more proceeds for charity works, scholarships, etc.
Kristin Hilbert, our Corporate Assistant
Secretary, lead the effort for our chapter for the FIRST time and she
did a terrific job! She and key volunteers [from corporate member
Savantage Solutions] Rita Finney, Event Treasurer, and Dan Christovich,
AGA POC, ensured the tournament went smoothly without a hitch!
For the first time in many years, our new Chapter
President Dave McDermott came to address the audience, congratulate the
foursomes as they completed play and give awards for first, second, and
most honest teams. Likewise the new AGA Washington Chapter
President Kim Farington also addressed the crowd and demonstrated strong
support by playing the course :)
The weather was perfect, the chow plentiful, and
the company terrific.
Our gratitude extends to our Service VPs for
promoting the event - evidenced by the fact that almost half of the
golfers were government employees - a terrific goal we exceeded!
