Dear Colleague:
SUBJECT: Invitation to the National Capitol Regional Professional
Development Institute
I want to extend an invitation to you and your staff to the
annual American Society of Military Comptrollers National Capitol
Regional Professional Development Institute. This year's event will
take place on March 11, 2010, in downtown Washington D.C. at the Ronald
Reagan Building. The theme of this year’s PDI is “Smartly Modernizing
DoD Financial Management.”
Speakers this year include the Honorable Robert Hale, the
Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Mr. Paul Brinkley, Deputy
Undersecretary of Defense. The program will consist of several panels
and breakout sessions that cover a wide-array of topics that I am sure
will be of interest to you and your staffs. These topics include Mr.
Hale's FM priorities, a discussion on the Quadrennial Defense Review
highlighting impacts on the FM community, several sessions on in-theater
financial matters, audit readiness discussions, and a 2010/2011 Budget
update. The enclosed flyer provides a general overview of the event and

The Ronald Reagan Building is easily accessible by metro.
Also, attendees will be earning Continuing Professional Education
Credits for their respective certifications for a very reasonable
registration fee.

June 1-4 with a theme of Getting in Tune to Professionalism.
