On Wednesday, June 20, 2001, 56 golfers braved the sweltering heat and humidity at the Fort Belvior Golf Club's Gunston Course in the Annual ASMC Washington Chapter Golf Tournament. The charity event raised over $1,500 for the ASMC Washington Chapter Scholarship Fund.

By the end of the day the following people had beat the heat and won the following awards:

1st Place Team: DFAS-1, Frank Rago, Mark Frastak, Jeff McKay, Robert Fajkowski

2nd Place Team: HQ USMC, Don Callaway, Joann Callaway, Dave Driegert, Rick Colvard

Most Honest Score: RG II Technologies, Don McCarty and Clark Rook

Awards were also given for men's and women's longest drive, straightest drive, and most accurate drive.
