Colonel Robert M. Weidert, USMC As the Deputy for Financial Oversight, Colonel Weidert is principally responsible to oversee the finance, accounting, and audit and review functions within the U.S. Marine Corps. He and his staff also coordinate automated financial systems development, and accounting and finance liaision with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. Col Weidert has been assigned to this position since 15 July 2000. Prior to this assignment, Col Weidert was assigned for three years as the Assistant Chief of Staff, Comptroller, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Atlantic, Norfolk, VA. COMMARFORLANT commands all U.S. Marine Corps operating forces on the east coast assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force headquartered at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. COMMARFORLANT also serves as Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Bases, Atlantic and commands those east coast bases and stations where MARFORLANT opearting forces are stationed. Colonel Weidert is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and Naval Postgraduate School. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration. Colonel Weidert was commissioned in 1976 and has been a financial management officer since 1978. In addition to his most recent assignment as a Marine Forces Comptroller, he has served in a variety of comptroller billets at the Division, Brigade, and Aircraft Wing levels within the operating forces and at Fiscal Division, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps.
