Director,
PricewaterhouseCoopers National Security Practice
In his role as Managing
Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' National Security Practice, Mr. Modly
coordinates the development and implementation of broad solutions to the
National Security Practice's key mission support groups supporting the U.S.
Departments of Defense and State. Mr. Modly also leads the PWC Global
Government and Defense Network where he helps the development of the global
firm's business activity in the defense and government sectors. He leads
multiple economic development and stabilization projects in Iraq in support of
the DoD, providing professional support and analytical services focused on
attracting foreign and domestic private sector investment in Iraq.
Prior to joining PWC, Mr. Modly was the Deputy Under
Secretary of Defense (Financial Management) where he was responsible for the
business transformation and business systems modernization efforts for the
Department. Prior to his government service, Mr. Modly had a distinguished
career as a corporate strategist and mergers and acquisitions specialist where
he worked in both the aviation and information technology services industries.
He is also a former naval aviator (helicopters) and a former Assistant Professor
of Political Science at the United States Air Force Academy. Mr. Modly has a
Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, a
Master of Arts in Government from Georgetown University, and an MBA with honors
from Harvard Business School.
