
Juan De Jesus
(YA3) Director, E-Commerce
Mr.
Juan De Jesus is the current Director of E- Commerce for the U.S. Army Finance Command, an
Operating Agency under the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management
and Comptroller) and serves as the U.S. Department of the Army’ principal
liaison and senior technical staff advisor for financial E-Commerce initiatives
(e.g., Smart Cards/Stored Value Cards, Paper Check Conversion, ITS.gov, US
Debit Card, banking and the Defense Civilian
Pay System).
In 1973, Mr. De Jesus entered active duty as
an enlisted Finance Specialist, obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and, in 1982,
was selected for and graduated from the U.S. Army Officer’s
In
1995, Mr. De Jesus retired from the U.S. Army with the grade of Major and began
his civil service career with the U.S. Army Finance Command.
Former
military assignments include numerous financial enlisted assignments, Field
Artillery Branch for three years before transferring to the Finance Branch in
1985. Other assignments include the 6/10th
Field Artillery Battalion, 18th Airborne Corps Finance, and the 82d
Finance Battalion at the 82d Airborne Division.
Some
of Mr. De Jesus’ military and civilian awards include: the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service
Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Superior
Civilian Service Award (2nd award) and the Commander’s Award for Civilian
Service.
He
is a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), Lightning
Chapter,
Mr.
De Jesus and his wife, Mayra, have two sons, Omar and
Ricardo.
