The 2009 National Capital Region PDI theme is DoD Fiscal Readiness:                      Back to Basics for the Warfighter!

More than ever in this time of increased global threat, uncertainty and shortages, the DoD Financial Management community must smartly execute its mission as trusted business management partners of the Warfighters and stewards of scarce resources to achieve accountability, transparency, and integrity.

We have the Honorable Robert Hale, Under Secretary of Defense, Comptroller as a  morning keynote speaker. Our opening keynote is  Fred Selby, Deputy CFO for the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), U.S. Treasury.  Additionally, we have Ms. Elizabeth McGrath, Assistant Deputy Chief Management Officer, OSD and the DCMOs from the Military Services on a panel to examine the Impact of the DoD’s New Chief Management Officers’ Legislation.  Our luncheon speaker is Rear Admiral Wayne G. Shear, Jr., Commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Chief of Civil Engineers who will speak on "SEABEES and the  Engineer War."

Planned Workshop Sessions include:

  • Current DoD Financial Issues
  • PP&E Alternate Valuation Methodology, DoD/Coast Guard Co-operation
